Transfer Your Credit Hours to Methodist University

You’ve worked hard for your previous educational experience, which is why some Methodist University graduate certificate programs accept transfer credit hours.

  • Based on exam scores, three courses (up to nine credit hours) may be waived for the online Post Baccalaureate Teacher Residency Licensure Certificate. Students who have degrees in education without licensure and who have passed all content licensure exams may apply for a waiver for content/pedagogy courses
  • While Methodist University’s online Graduate Nursing Education Certificate does not accept transfer credits, you can receive dual credit toward our online MSN

Methodist University Welcomes International Students

If you are an international student applying to Methodist University, you will need to submit documentation in addition to your online application.

  • Collect official transcripts from all institutions you have attended. Transcripts must be evaluated and translated into English before an admissions decision can be made. You are responsible for the timely translation and evaluation of documents and all costs and fees associated with these services. Suggested evaluation services are World Education Services, Inc. or Josef Silny & Associates, Inc.

While the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education and the Post Baccalaureate Teacher Residency Licensure Certificate welcome international applicants, we are unable to serve international students pursuing a Health Care Administration Certificate at this time.

A graduate certificate can enhance your professional skills and give you a valuable credential for advancement. However, it is not a degree like an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree.

The definition of a certificate and a micro-credential varies across industries and institutions, but the two are usually considered very similar.

The time to complete an online graduate certificate depends on which program you’re interested in.

  • The health care administration certificate is a two-term program.
  • The nursing education certificate is a one-year program.
  • The Post Baccalaureate Teacher Residency Licensure Certificate is a two-year program.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Pell Grants are typically awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need and who have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree. In some cases, however, a student pursuing a postbaccalaureate teacher certification program may be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.

The number of credit hours you can transfer depends on the certificate program you’re interested in.
