MU’s online BS in Advanced Paramedicine costs $435 per credit hour and requires 124 total credit hours. With your paramedic credential, you’ll start the program with 36 transfer credits, saving you both time and money. Ginny Renkiewicz

Dr. Ginny KAPLAN, Department Chair | Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration

Dr. Ginny Kaplan is an internationally known researcher and has won national and international awards for research, innovation, and education in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

She has been involved in EMS for over 20 years as both a credentialed Paramedic and Level II Paramedic Instructor. Kaplan has spent nearly 20 years as a program director, division chair, or department head and has been recognized for her contribution to the EMS profession as a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services (FAEMS) through the National Association of EMS Physicians. She has won several national and international awards, including National EMS Educator of the Year and the global EMS10 Award for innovation in the field of EMS. Dr. Kaplan holds an Associate of Applied Science in Sign Language Interpreting from Wilson Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care with a concentration in EMS management from Western Carolina University, a Master of Health Science in EMS education also from Western Carolina University, and a Ph.D. in Health Science with a concentration in Respiratory Care from Rush University.

The online BS in Advanced Paramedicine is available in both part-time and full-time options. We designed it to provide flexible pathways to degree completion for the working professional. The program does not require a minimum amount of work experience. However, you must provide proof of an active paramedic credential or military designation in a paramedic role (current or active within the last four years) prior to admission. You can learn more about our requirements on the admissions page.

Up to 93 credits may be transferred and applied towards the online BS in Advanced Paramedicine. All students qualify for at least 36 transfer credits by having their required paramedic credential. You can learn more about this policy on the admissions page.

The online BS in Advanced Paramedicine does not include any concentrations.

The BS in Advanced Paramedicine is only available online. This allows you to study in the times and locations that are best for you without ever needing to come to campus.
