Hi, my name is Ryan Lucas and I’m an Advanced Paramedicine bachelor’s student at Methodist University. The Advanced Paramedicine course is built in such a way that the online content is super user-friendly. It allows me to download the lectures download the documents that I need. I can do it right on my phone. The HTML format of the audio allows me to listen to it in my car. it’s compatible with any Bluetooth device. The flexibility of the program allows me to be a full-time father and a full-time student, and successfully complete the coursework in my time schedule. I’m also thankful for the staff and faculty. They made the entire enrollment process extremely easy for me, especially being a first-time learner in a civilian education environment. In the online Bachelor of Science in Advanced Paramedicine program, you will acquire the following skills:
- Competence in B.S. in Advanced Paramedicine: The Advanced Paramedicine Program will prepare students to demonstrate advanced proficiency in clinical emergency medicine, including additional service areas, that will enable them to succeed in the EMS profession.
- Cultural Competence and a Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (JEDI) Mindset: The Advanced Paramedicine Program will ensure students demonstrate an understanding and commitment to cultural competence, working with (and learning from) different cultures, and being a patient advocate in an inclusive and meaningful way.

Dr. Ginny KAPLAN, Department Chair | Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration
Dr. Ginny Kaplan is an internationally known researcher and has won national and international awards for research, innovation, and education in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Kaplan has been involved in EMS for over 25 years as both a credentialed paramedic and level II paramedic instructor. She has spent over 20 years as a program director, division chair, or department head and has been recognized for her contribution to the EMS profession as a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services (FAEMS) through the National Association of EMS Physicians. She has won several national and international awards, including National EMS Educator of the Year and the global EMS10 Award for innovation in the field of EMS. Kaplan holds an Associate of Applied Science in Sign Language Interpreting from Wilson Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care with a concentration in EMS management from Western Carolina University, a Master of Health Science in EMS education also from Western Carolina University, and a Ph.D. in Health Science with a concentration in Respiratory Care from Rush University.
