Admission Requirements for MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

To apply for the online MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Methodist University, you’ll need the following:

International Students

Methodist University welcomes international students to apply to our online programs. If you are a non-native speaker of English, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) will be required.

Transfer Credit

You can transfer up to nine credits toward your degree.

Methodist University generally accepts credits for courses completed with a grade of C or higher from other regionally accredited institutions of higher education.

Spring

  • Application Submission Deadline:
    • Early Decision: October 15
  • Invitation to Virtual Interviews with CMHC Faculty: October 30
  • Virtual Interview Conducted: November 16
  • Decision Shared: November 20

Depending on demand and capacity in the program, deadlines may be modified.

Admission Review Process

  • All submitted applications undergo a focused review by CMHC Core Faculty
  • CMHC Core Faculty invite, participate in and facilitate admissions interviews
    • Adjunct faculty can facilitate admissions interviews but not review applications
  • Admitted applicants shared with MU Online Assistant Dean and Assistant Provost
  • Institutional admissions procedures for acceptance and new student orientation are followed
