Online Master of Business Administration (MBA): Admission Requirements

To apply for the online master’s in business administration from Methodist University, you’ll need the following:

Degree and Minimum GPABachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university before starting the first term of the program. Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Additional Requirements
  • If the undergraduate degree is not in a Business-related discipline, students need to complete at least one undergraduate course in each of the following subjects: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Legal Environment/Ethics, Management, and Statistics.
  • Students desiring to enter the Methodist University MBA program may not have all the prerequisite courses to be admitted to the program. In that case, students may take undergraduate courses or self-paced courses approved by Methodist University’s MBA program. Students may also meet the prerequisite requirements through CLEP, Dantes Subject Standardized Tests, or other approved examinations.
  • Students requiring prerequisites may be provisionally admitted into the MBA program and start courses. However, students must successfully complete all prerequisite courses by the time they have earned 18 credits in the MBA program.
  • Two letters of recommendation, of which at least one must be from a professor or employer.
  • Personal statement (1-2 pages) discussing your background, interest in attending Methodist University, interest in the program, and your career goals.
  • Official transcripts.

If you are a non-native speaker of English, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) will be required.

Transfer Credit

You can transfer up to nine credits toward your degree.

Methodist University generally accepts credits for courses completed with a grade of C or higher from other regionally accredited institutions of higher education.
